Did you know February is National Heart Month, and National Weddings Month? February is also An Affair To Remember Month, and you’ll be interested to know it’s National Library Lovers Month, which is great because it’s also Creative Romance Month.
February is filled with all the yummiest of special days too, like Bubble Gum Day, Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, National Pizza Day, Plum Pudding Day, National Gum Drop Day, National Chocolate Mint Day, Cherry Pie Day, National Pistachio Day, and of course, Valentines Day.
Ah, February…what would a month dedicated to love be without special days like, Thank a Mailman Day, Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day, Send a Card to a Friend Day, Make a Friend Day, Do A Grouch A Favor Day, Random Acts of Kindness Day, Love Your Pet Day, and *Hoodie-Hoo Day!
* Hoodie-Hoo Day: Always on February 20, this winter day, people (generally from the North) go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and chant “Hoodie-Hoo”.
In keeping with February’s “LOVE” theme, our writing prompt is:
Love With A Twist ~ An Homage To O’Henry
February 9, 2019

Tips For Writing Flash Fiction: Jump into the action. Figure out the ending before you start. Don’t worry about word count until you start editing. Pick a key emotion, a strong image, limit your characters. The #vss365 hash tag on Twitter and the following website has examples of 100 word Flash Fiction! http://www.100wordstory.org/national-flash-fiction-day-story-winners/
Good Luck!
